SCSU COVID-19 Warning

An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any place where people gather. You assume all risks, hazards, and dangers arising from or relating in any way to the risk of contracting a communicable disease or illness—including, without limitation, exposure to COVID-19 or any other bacteria, virus, or other pathogen capable of causing a communicable disease or illness, whether that exposure occurs before, during, or after the event, and regardless of how caused or contracted—and you hereby waive all claims and potential claims.

Vaccination Policy

Southern Connecticut State University acknowledges the importance of community-wide vaccination regarding our ability to create a safe environment for all our patrons, volunteers, staff, crew, and artists. We strongly encourage all, who are able, to get vaccinated.

General Public Patrons*

Will need to be Fully Vaccinated (as defined below) with an FDA or WHO authorized vaccine in order to be permitted to attend events at The Lyman Center.  Proof of vaccination, along with an acceptable form of ID, and a valid ticket for the performance will be required at the time of entry. Entry will be denied to patrons who do not provide the documentation as required.

“Fully Vaccinated” means on the day of the performance, as shown on the valid ticket, a patron is:

  • at least 14 days after their second dose of an FDA or WHO approved two dose COVID-19 vaccine, or
  • at least 14 days after their single dose of an FDA or WHO approved single dose COVID-19 vaccine.

The only exceptions are:

  • patrons under the age of 12, who must be accompanied by an adult that meets the above vaccination requirements; or
  • patrons who need reasonable accommodations due to a medical exception or a sincerely held religious or personal belief.

Patrons who are not able to be vaccinated, for one of the reasons listed above, must provide, instead of evidence of vaccination:

  • negative COVID-19 PCR test taken within 48 hours of the performance start time.

Southern Connecticut State University Faculty, Staff, and Student Patrons*

Will need to show a valid SCSU ID, and a valid ticket for the performance in order to be permitted to attend events at The Lyman Center. They also attest that they have fulfilled the State and University mandated requirements to be vaccinated against COVID-19 (14 days past second shot) or are being tested regularly and that your latest test is negative. Entry will be denied to patrons who do not provide the documentation as required.

Proof of Vaccination*

Proof of Vaccination must come directly from the healthcare provider who administered the vaccination. Patrons may display proof on a smartphone or present a physical copy.

Accepted Forms of ID*

The government-issued photo ID, such as a driver’s license or passport, is required by all patrons 18 years and older. Patrons younger than 18 may use a government-issued photo ID or school photo ID. Patrons under 12 must be accompanied by an adult who meets the above requirements.

Mask Policy*

Masks are always required while inside university buildings, regardless of vaccination status except when eating or drinking. Masks must completely cover the nose and mouth and comply with the CDC guidelines for acceptable face coverings. If a patron does not have an acceptable mask, a mask will be provided.
